About Our Client
This company is a leader in the Transport & Distribution sector, with a strong global reputation. You will be joining a subsidiary of the organisation headquartered in Mascot, the company has a global reach and a reputation for delivering efficient logistics solutions.The organisation is undergoing a period of change due to company acquisition and they require a strong HR leader who can manage change effectively and ensure employee engagement and retention remains it's best through culture, policy and training changes.
Job Description
Reporting into Head of HR APAC, you will be responsible for driving both global and local policies for your 3 business unitss (2 in Australia, 1 in New Zealand).
- You will take a central role in working with the Australia and New Zealand offices, along with the Global HR community, to develop and execute HR strategies and policies that promote a culture of high performance and strong talent retention.
- Ensure newly implemented systems (HRIS and Learning Management System) are working effectively and are being adopted correctly by the business.
- Assist with the outsourcing of the payroll function into the shared service centre based in Phillipines.
- As a people partner, you will engage with employees to ensure a positive experience through key HR initiatives.
- Ensure HR policies are in line with statutory requirements and reflect both internal standards and external best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts, working alongside the business management team to support growth, transformation, and strengthen organisational capabilities.
- Oversee the implementation of HR strategies, monitoring progress against sub-functional goals to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead efforts to refine and adapt HR processes to better serve the organisation's needs.
- You will also contribute to delivering Group and Regional HR projects and initiatives designed to create a comprehensive and cohesive employee experience throughout the employee journey.
The Successful Applicant
A successful HR Manager should have:
- Resilience: Ability to manage periods of change effectively (change management experience).
- Stakeholder Communication: Skilled in interacting with different business units and leadership.
- Strategic Business Partnering: Must have experience in partnering across the business with a long-term focus.
- Talent and L&D Focused: Succession planning experience and ability to future proof the business.
- Long-term Focus: Prepared to protect and guide the business into 2025 and beyond. Focus on keeping employees engaged and retained during this period of change.
