About the Portfolio   

 

The International and Engagement portfolio is responsible for RMIT’s international strategy and agenda, including international development and partnerships and oversight of our international operations including RMIT Vietnam and RMIT Europe. It also incorporates the University’s key engagement functions including communications, experience (global marketing, global student recruitment, alumni), and business development and partnerships. 

 

About the role 

 

As the Assistant Director, Global Sales, and Conversion (AD), you will develop and implement the acquisition and conversion strategy on behalf of the University. This includes leadership of vocational education, undergraduate and postgraduate sales. The AD, will also manage the following centralised functions: 

  • Sales / Enquiries Management team 

  • Conversion team 

Operating under broad direction and with a high degree of autonomy, the AD will play a key role in the development of sales and conversion strategies and activities for domestic and international students, taking into consideration market diversification needs/aspirations to reach University targets. Furthermore, the AD will work closely with various internal and external senior stakeholders including the management team, Associate Deans, Colleges, Schools and colleagues within Global Marketing, Admissions and Student Recruitment to secure, nurture and enhance the sales pipeline conversion from enquiry to enrolment. 

 

This role reports directly to the Director, Global Student Recruitment at RMIT. 

 

  

 To be successful in this position you will ideally have:   

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Education, Sales or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience in a large services organisation. 

  • Extensive and relevant sales and student recruitment expertise with substantial experience within a large and complex organisation 

  • Highly developed analytical, numeracy and strategic planning skills including the proven ability to deliver financial uplift and deliver cost savings through business and process simplification 

  • Strong leadership qualities with demonstrated capacity to initiate and lead service delivery in a challenging and dynamic environment. The ability to manage, influence and motivate people at all levels – including those not within direct control 

  • Understanding of sales, conversion, customer service and customer acquisition challenges within service organisations and a capacity to conceive, plan and implement product related strategies for various audiences. 

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent communications skills including the ability to produce plans, reports and budgets.
