The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Government Relations professional, based in Melbourne, to join our Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Division, which includes Sustainability, Government & Industry Relations, Communications, and Brand & Reputation. Reporting to the General Manager, Government & Industry Relations, you will be responsible for driving and coordinating engagement with priority stakeholders in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement government relations strategies for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, to support stakeholder engagement and organisational goals

  • Advise and support APA executives on energy industry matters and advocacy campaigns

  • Provide insights and analysis from stakeholder engagement to APA

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business on research projects, policy positions and executive briefings on government policies, legislation and regulation

  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key government stakeholders

  • Manage executive engagement with government stakeholders

  • Manage relevant voluntary disclosure and reporting, planning and stakeholder management processes

About You

  • Demonstrated successful corporate affairs experience; management of government and stakeholder relationships in Victoria preferred

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of government processes and the relationships between political offices and departmental officials

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, at the forefront of the energy transition, with an eye to solutions for managing complex matters with government stakeholders

  • Tertiary qualification and/or relevant work experience in related discipline
