**The Opportunity**:
Visy is a global leader in the packaging, paper and resource recovery industries, providing high quality, innovative and sustainable packaging products and solutions. We have been leading packaging innovation in Australia for over 70 years.

This position will be responsible for facilitating and delivering Industrial Relations business strategy, whilst ensuring compliance & governance. Reporting to the General Manager - Industrial Relations and based in either Melbourne (preferred) or Brisbane, you will work in collaboration with other National IR Managers on IR issues across the business.

**_ Other key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:_**
- On the ground experience in resolving industrial action, which involves all forms of protected industrial action. Handling the direct face to face confrontation that may come from protected industrial action.
- Strong experience in representations before the Fair Work Commission during bargaining and/or dispute related matters. An exposure to the environment of FWC intervention and handling of complex negotiations.
- Appreciation for the changing face of Australian Industrial Relations legislation and how these changes will impact an Australian manufacture with a Unionized workforce.
- High level stakeholder management skills enabling management levels to understand and react to workplace bargaining.
- Participating in projects focused on continuous improvement along with coaching the frontline leaders to manager IR effectively.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or Employee Relations
- Knowledge and understanding of the I&ER environment in highly unionized manufacturing sites.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven ability in resolving conflict.
- Wide experience with multiple unions (such as AMW, TWU and AWU), is highly regarded.
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders, both internal & external
