Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse / Manager seeking a new challenge, overseeing our busy team at The Darwin Clinic.

We are seeking a highly skilled customer service driven Associate Director of Nursing to take on this full-time role in which the successful applicant will be required to engage various teams and stakeholders within the Mental Health & AoD Unit and embed Clinical Excellence within the Unit.

As the Associate Director of Nursing your responsibilities will include:

Providing leadership and direction to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the unit and you will liaise with our VMOs and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.

Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.

In February 2021, a purpose built 18 bed inpatient Mental Health & AoD Unit was opened, this is a new service for patients in the Northern Territory. It also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program.

Selection Criteria:

  • Registered with AHPRA
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong customer focus
  • Financial and human resource management skills
  • Strong motivation and ability to manage change
  • Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
  • Participate in WH&S and quality activities
  • Post Graduate study in Management or Business is desirable

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and the Darwin Private Hospital - Nurses and Midwives - Enterprise Agreement - 2021-2024
