About the Role

BOQ Group are currently on the hunt for a full time, permanent Systems Accountant to join our busy Group Finance division in Newstead, Brisbane. As the Systems Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising the Bank’s reconciliation systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Working with a wide range of stakeholders across the Bank this role will ensure the streamlining and uplift of all system process related to reconciliations.

The key responsibilities of the Systems Accountant will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Daily management of the Accurate and ReconNet reconciliation applications including user administration, troubleshooting and system performance monitoring.
  • Review and implement controls for the reconciliation systems in line with Group IT Policy.
  • Manage and improve the integrity of the data used to perform the reconciliations engaging with system stakeholders throughout the business.
  • Design, build and implement new reconciliations in the appropriate reconciliation tool through stakeholder engagement with business and project teams.
  • Build and improve operational and analytical reporting.
  • Educate and provide ongoing support to all users.
  • Continuous improvements across all aspects of the reconciliation system processes.
  • Support system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Review and maintain all policies and procedures related to the reconciliation systems

About you

The key knowledge, skills, and experience that we will be looking for in our newly created Systems Accountant position may include the following:

Qualifications:

  • Relevant academic qualification in accounting/IT

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Systems Accountant for reconciliation applications (Accurate and ReconNet preferred)
  • Preferred experience in Financial Services
  • Experience in business analysis

Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Ability to prioritise and manage both BAU and project deliverables
  • Ability to problem solve, critically analyse data, and articulate potential solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in challenging existing processes and behaviours
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision from management
  • Stakeholder management experience (Internal and external)
  • Continuous improvement mindset and the drive to enhance the end-to-end process
