Senior Associate, APAC Infrastructure

This Opportunity: 

The Senior Associate in APAC Infrastructure is accountable for significantly contributing to business development activities, applying technical expertise to infrastructure and capital works project delivery and management, and demonstrating superior relationship building and communication skills. Adapting to dynamic environments and situations to realise results and deliver on-time and on-budget in any context is a critical component of this role. 

Location: 

The position is based in Palladium’s Brisbane or Canberra office; however you will be expected to spend extended periods of time working offshore on projects.

Reporting Lines: 

The role will directly report to a Director, Infrastructure. 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Associate can be broadly described as follows: 

Market and Business Development:

Commit to the delivery of company and regional objectives (Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) ensuring that personal KRAs are delivered with excellence and timeliness.
Significantly contribute to business development, understand client and bid requirements, monitor adherence and identify and propose solutions to challenges within the process. 
Manage research on industry trends, client or country specific challenges, partners, competitors and market intelligence gathering. 
Contribute to the design and preparation of capability statements, expressions of interest, technical and commercial/financial proposals. 
Draft sections of bids (including structuring bid financials), take a lead role in negotiations with partners and prospective employees and/or contractors, draft technical responses and ensure our approach to sustainable business is captured in our bids. 
Demonstrate high level interpersonal skills to influence and manage client expectations; interact, engage and communicate with client contacts; understand client challenges and articulate and confidently present solutions to complex issues; and develop excellent working relationships with client project teams. 

Project Delivery:

Lead specific components within projects and support the delivery of complex/challenging projects, with minimal guidance. 
Accurately track project income (PI), prepare accurate management/financial reports, support budget management and forecasting, and apply project cost management techniques to work planning, budgeting and expenditure monitoring. 
Take ownership of project deliverables and contribute to process improvement through innovative and cost-effective ideas and solutions. 
Play a key role in scoping and hiring diverse and inclusive project teams, leveraging local and global expertise.
Assist with the identification and management of project risk and changing security contexts, supporting their identification, reporting, management and mitigation. 
Confidently communicate with clients on technical areas of the program and provide high quality technical support, with limited referral to the Project Director. 
Deliver the agreed scope of work with excellence, within timeframes and budget and act as the central liaison between the client, senior management, vendors and project teams. 
Lead elements of procurement, focusing on our commitment to build diverse supply chains. 
Seek out business opportunities, identifying challenges and patterns as well as the potential for up-sell/cross-sell. 
Gain exposure across multiple projects or business areas, find ways to contribute to our deliverables and success, and focus on continuous improvement.
Support and adhere to company workplace health and safety and quality assurance frameworks. 

Relationships, Communication & Development: 

Develop and maintain client and stakeholder relationships across your assignments and maintain a professional, respectful and effective relationships with your colleagues.
Train, mentor and coach more junior colleagues, supporting them to work through ambiguity and ensuring messages from leadership are supported and clearly cascaded.

Essential Criteria: 

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of experience; 
Relevant work experience, preferably within a consulting or project management environment;
Exposure to business development, ideally within a consulting or project management environment;
Technical writing and verbal communication skills; 
Financial and commercial acumen, including excellent skills in Excel; 
Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively in teams and with clients; 
Highly developed organizational skills, agility and the ability to balance and priorities multiple tasks, and work well under pressure; 
Flexibility to travel to various locations throughout the APAC region;
