About the role:
As part of a newly formed commercial advisory team, you will be instrumental in managing and administering contracts during the post-award stage of construction projects and services across multiple Capital Delivery projects simultaneously. You will facilitate communication between project teams, processing claims and variations, ensuring contractual compliance, attending contract management meetings, and preparing reports.  Additionally, you will be responsible for timely payments and safeguarding Unitywater’s contractual obligations. Managing the commercial risks and outcomes across programs up to $100m per annum, the position will focus on all necessary contract administration tasks within the management of a construction contract, including but not limited to:
  

  • Be a liaison between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear and effective communication on contractual obligations, changes and milestones.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to, facilitating project execution, and fostering professional relationships.
  • Manage contract budgets and expenditures, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and variance analyses, providing detailed reports to project manager and senior leadership.
  • Implement cost control measures and support identification of cost saving opportunities, contributing to the projects success.
  • Ensure the accurate preparation, review, and administration of contract documents in alignment with project requirements and legal standards, as well as maintain comprehensive contract records, ensuring all documentation is current and compliant with regulations and policies.
  • Apply and interpret key elements of works delivery and construction contracts, including Australian Standard Conditions of Contract and other bespoke contract documentation.
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, including executives, internal customers, staff and suppliers to deliver positive outcomes for the project and organisation.

  
  
About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in a contracts administration position, ideally within a similar industry.
  • Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions.
  • Experience in Minor Contracts (subcontracts, supply contracts and consultancy agreements).
  • High level written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence optimal commercial outcomes and provide quality customer service.
  • Strong analytical, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the MS Office products and familiarity with contract management and financial management software.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Business, Commerce, Project Management, Law or related discipline will be advantageous but not essential.
