Senior Licensing Officer

  • $78,455.00 per annum + superannuation
  • Full Time, fixed term position until 30/5/2025 (parental leave)
  • Geelong based (Hybrid working model)

About the role

As part of the Licensing team, the Senior Licensing Officer provides operational support and service through the administration of a range of licensing procedures for a wide variety of permission types that vary in complexity as well as being responsible for the issue and renewal of Licences under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Dangerous Goods Act.

The Senior Licensing Officer needs to appropriately apply legislation when assessing applications to ensure that they are compliant. They also need to ensure the accuracy of any decisions or information that they provide. As a multi skilled senior officer they need to be flexible and move between Licence types as operational needs require.

Key accountabilities

  • Provide accurate and timely information and advice to stakeholders on licensing issues via phone, face to face or written communications
  • Apply Subject Matter Expertise to assess and process licensing applications and registrations for a wide variety of permission types, including technical assessments for more complex application types
  • Make delegate decisions for certain Licence types in line with approved proceduresProvide Licensing Officers with content support as required
  • Manage stakeholder issues such as complaint handling through to resolution, either through providing advice or appropriate referral

About you

You are an experienced licensing officer and customer service professional ready for the next step in your career. You are able to manage a high volume workload with ease and offer guidance and assistance to the wider Licensing team as required. You will also possess:

  • Well-developed time management, organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise on a professional level with a diverse client/stakeholder group
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
