About the program
The Tactical Air Defence Radar System (TADRS) is a deployable tactical air defence radar that enables air surveillance, command and control functions in support of military and humanitarian missions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the TADRS team in Williamtown, NSW. The position of Senior Hardware Engineer will be an integral member of Lockheed Martin’s project engineering team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct or participate in the research, design, development, and testing of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) / Military Off The Shelf (MOTS) or custom computing hardware and/or other electrical components. 
  • Develop designs for the installation of components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, customer facilities, and/or shelters.
  • Plan, direct, review and coordinate preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met. Prepare specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyse test reports. 

About you:

You will have proven experience in successfully performing and leading Hardware Engineering activities, specifically in Electrical Systems, and enjoy mentoring others. With superior communication skills a strong analytical mind you will thrive in a fast paced environment.  

Essential*

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering etc.) from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience in;
  • Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Familiarity with HF, Tx, Rx, power distribution, lighting, security, communications and environmental control systems.
  • Understanding of fault finding for COTS and proprietary electrical and electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000 and associated standards.
  • Knowledge of circuit design and operation.
  • Knowledge of cable design.
  • Experienced in using electronic and electrical test equipment
  • Understanding of Configuration Management. 
  • Understand CAD and Modelling Tools.
  • Knowledge of System Engineering Lifecycle processes. 

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
