    What you’ll do:

    The Project Controller provides project managers and clients with program support, estimates, project control information and reports and a project-control support service.

    The Project Controller is responsible for preparing schedules, monitoring costs, co-ordinating travel and resources and other administrative duties as directed by the Program or project manager that they are supporting.

    What you’ll bring:

    Some of your key skills and experience may include:

    • Certification in Project Management highly regarded.
    • Previous experience in a similar role or a role in business or finance administration where you had a high degree of project work.
    • Ideally you have worked within an engineering, design, construction, trade or similar organisation.
    • Experience in the use of project management software packages, such as MS Project and an understanding of cost and schedule control is desirable.

  • Principal Engineer - Dams/Civil - Melbourne, Hobart

This role will give you the opportunity to work on diverse projects including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped hydro and utilities works (transmission and distribution substations, switchyards and lines) for a broad range of clients.

    You will work with, and actively contribute to an effective and experienced team who will help you to further develop your skills and knowledge.

    You have a background working in the energy sector experience in the following areas:

    • 12-15 years’ experience.
    • Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering, science or hydrology as required for admission as a member of Engineers Australia or equivalent.
    • Strong experience with Australian hydrological and hydraulic practices including current design guidelines and standards.
    • Strong hydrologic modelling and flood forecasting skills using a range of standard industry software.
    • Strong programming skills (preferably in R or Python) applied to hydrology projects.
    • Advanced statistical skills related to design flood hydrology, including flood frequency approaches, and total probability methods for Monte Carlo samping on multiple reservoirs.
    • Analysis of impacts of climate change and climate variability on water availability.
    • Use of semi-distributed or lumped conceptual rainfall-runoff models (eWater Source, RORB, HEC-HMS or similar) for event based and continuous simulation.
    • Familiar with model calibration approaches for both event based and continuous simulation hydrological models.

  • Senior Structural Transmission Line Engineer - Melbourne, Hobart

    Entura is growing and so are our teams supporting an exciting pipeline of large-scale projects. We are now seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer specialising in Transmission Line Design.

    Key requirements of the role are as follows:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body.
    • At least, Ten years (10) experience in structural (Lattice structures) design work, with a particular emphasis on transmission line and substation structural design work.
    • Strong knowledge of the following Australian Standards AS/NZS 7000, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3995 and AS 1170.
    • Sound experience in the use of computer design packages e.g. PLS Tower, PLS Pole;
    • Development of conductor loads for transmission and substation structures.
    • Experience in the development of conductor attachment point loads for transmission and substation structures through “Limit State” design method.
    • Experience in the analysis of lattice towers, pole and gantry structures.
    • Experience in lattice tower member connection detailing and design.
    • Experience in existing tower augmentation and strengthening works for TL upgradation projects.
    • Experience in lattice tower, pole and substation foundation designs.
    • Computer literacy with a high standard of competence in the principal components of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook .
    • Ability to solve complex technical and operational problems, either through a systematic approach or innovation.
    • Previous experience in an engineering design consultancy environment.
    • Client and project management.

    The role is based in our Tasmanian office however flexible work arrangements are considered.  Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.

    The role involves reviewing work of more junior team members providing technical support, maintain relationships with existing clients and be the interface between Entura and respective client, act as the Technical Lead for connection application studies, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance assessments, model overlays and model validation in PSSE and PSCAD and Project management of smaller projects.

    You have experience in the following areas:

    • 7+ years’ experience.
    • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
    • Practical experience of 7+ years, predominantly in the space of grid connections, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance assessments, power system studies.
    • Undertaken testing either on site or virtually (e.g. via Teams screenshare) desirable but not essential.
    • Ideally CPEng, RPEQ, RPEV credentials
    • Able to diagnose and trouble-shoot independently (both in software PSSE, PSCAD, Python, etc as well as technical issues, i.e. understand the underlying real world physics).
    • Modelling software experience using:
      • PSSE
      • PSCAD essential
      • Powerfactory
      • SINCAL highly desired
      • Python and Matlab highly desired

    As Entura is currently growing to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Principal Renewable Engineer – Solar PV  to be part of our Renewables Development team.  In this role you will provide leadership and technical engineering advice and expertise in Solar PV electrical generation technology, and other forms of Renewable Energy.

    Whilst the primary focus of this position will be focused on Solar projects, such as capacity assessments, energy yield assessments, project development activities, developing of technical specification, evaluation of equipment, detailed designs, advise on project implementation or commissioning activities, the role will also cover other forms of renewable energy, such BESS and hybrid project, and to limited extent wind energy. Typical activities may include energy and resource assessments, concept and feasibility studies, specification development and project implementation support for renewable developments. These will be provided at stages from investigation and site acquisition, through development, design, owner engineer services and due diligence of existing assets. You will also work alongside a team of highly renowned technical and thought leaders within this discipline.  

    What you’ll bring:

    Preferred experience for the role includes the following:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline or experience as required for admission as a member of Engineers Australia.
    • At least 10 years’ experience in renewable energy solar PV systems at utility scales with an emphasis on their design (layout, cabling and or system) and installation.
    • Experience in Energy Yield Assessments
    • Technical due diligence and owners engineer experience.
    • Experience with Solar PV associated with hybrid or standalone systems, including device settings, control systems and commissioning.
    • Experience with the specification, procurement and installation of renewable generation systems, such as solar PV, wind, BESS & control.

    This role is ideally based in our Hobart or Melbourne office however flexible work locations are considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
