The Associate Director of Infrastructure and Communications is responsible for
the direction and oversight of the core technology and infrastructure. This includes strategies relating to investment in and adoption of emerging technologies and managing the rate of change to the client's platforms and services as well as maximising service uptime/availability. The role is required to manage complex, often competing and quickly changing, stakeholder expectations and deliver maximum value for the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing Management: Oversee the smooth functioning of the organisation and its technology services during the next 6 months.
  • Organisation Management: stabilise any organisational issues that are currently in-flight following leadership changes during 2023 and 2024, and others that may arise from planned transformation efforts. Ensure a smooth transfer of skills and functions to the newly created cyber security organisation.
  • Strategic Analysis and Issue Discovery: Assess the current state of the organisation and its technology infrastructure to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, while conducting a comprehensive review to uncover any existing issues or challenges hindering the organisation's current operations as well as pending transformation efforts.
  • Manage currently approved recruitment activities for team augmentation in conjunction with key existing team members and People & Culture Recruitment team
  • Manage current identified risks and assess operational environment for other latent risks
  • Transformation Planning: Participate with Leadership Team and contribute to strategic plan development and roadmaps for organisational and technological transformation.
  • Overseeing Operating Model Change and Reorganisation: Ensure the redesign of the organisation's operating model, including restructuring teams, processes, and workflows to align with transformation objectives
  • Change Management: Implement change management processes to facilitate smooth transitions and minimize resistance to organisational and technological changes
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and employees, to gain buy-in and support for projects and transformation initiatives
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish/maintain metrics and performance indicators to monitor the progress and effectiveness of infrastructure projects, making adjustments as needed to ensure success.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and uncertainties associated with existing operations and projects and implementing measures to mitigate them.
  • Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on the status of all initiatives.
  • Resource Management: Optimize the allocation of resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, to support transformation initiatives effectively.
  • Driving the Usual Portfolio of Projects Forward: Ensure that ongoing projects within the organisation continue to progress smoothly, meeting their objectives and timelines, while also aligning with the broader transformation agenda.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate the transfer of knowledge, skills and staff to the newly created internal cybersecurity organisation to ensure sustainability and long-term success of the reorganised IT Services.
  • Transition to the permanently recruited Associate Director Infrastructure and Communications once commenced.
