Join a leading public research university in Melbourne as a System Configuration Analyst. Reporting to the Workplace Systems Manager, you will be instrumental in the efficient deployment of our client's Standard Operating Environment (SOE) across various operating systems and platforms, including desktop, server, mobile, and virtual environments.

Contract Duartion- 4-6 months

Onsite  - 5 days a week at Hawthorn VIC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the client's SOE for over 12,000 desktops.
  • Manage the SOE Environment. (E.g. SCCM Servers, PXE, Casper setup and design).
  • Manage the deployment of PC applications, antivirus software, software patches, and updates.
  • Provide expert technical advice and assistance to staff.
  • Evaluate and recommend computer hardware and software.
  • Ensure delivery of client-focused services and maintain excellent rapport with users.
  • Conduct training and provide guidance on hardware and software usage.
  • Collaborate with IT staff across the University to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure client needs are met throughout the IT equipment lifecycle.
  • Report and resolve system, network, or infrastructure service disruptions.
  • Develop client procedures and information guides.
  • Promote continuous improvement in IT processes and procedures.
  • Accurately record maintenance and asset configuration changes.
  • Manage software and hardware license and maintenance agreements.
  • Perform level 3 escalation support and manage the Ivanti suite of applications.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and technical skills.
  • Independently resolve incidents and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Strong understanding of desktop, server, mobile, and virtual environments.
  • Experience with SOE design, development, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in managing PC applications, antivirus software, and software updates.
  • Excellent client service skills with the ability to provide technical advice and training.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with IT processes and procedures, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware evaluation and asset management.
  • Ability to handle level 3 escalation support and manage mobile devices.
