Set to open in spring, Batard is 2024’s most anticipated restaurant. Spanning four levels of restaurants, bars and more, this destination will capture the magic of Paris in a uniquely Melbourne way.

Home to Australia’s most beloved and acclaimed restaurants, including Chin Chin Melbourne and Sydney, Kisumé, Society, Yakimono, Grill Americano, Baby Pizza, Hawker Hall and our newly opened venue, Tombo Den. About the Opportunity:
Join the opening team of Batard and work with talented chefs. This is a great opportunity for Chefs de Partie and Commis Chefs to experience a new venue opening. Work closely with senior chefs and ensure the highest standards of quality, consistency and efficiency of your section. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a dynamic and prestigious kitchen.

Full time and casual positions available. 
 
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  • Experience as a Chef de Partie or Commis Chef in a high-end restaurant
  • Strong culinary skills with an eye for detail and a passion for quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure
  • Team oriented and strong communication skills
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Eye for detail and strong time management
  • Knowledge food safety standards
  • Genuine interest in the day-to-day operations
  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
