The Energy Solutions Team is in the privileged position to play a meaningful role in what is the biggest challenge of our generation – climate change.  We will achieve this by rapidly leveraging our privileged assets, brands, customer bases and expertise across geographies to accelerate the rollout of our alternative energy market offerings.

About the role:

The Energy Solutions business is currently recruiting for a Project Director – Storage & Generation whowill be responsible for driving the creation of a grid scale battery through the whole development lifecycle to close, on existing Ampol land holdings, to support the efforts to service the Retail business energy demands.

This role will serve as the main point of contact for external stakeholders and senior leaders across the Ampol group, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

Key Deliverables:

  • Create and implement development plans associated with large scale battery developments.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders closely including alignment at Executive and operational levels
  • Developing robust project plans to ensure effective planning for resources (including people and funding)
  • Develop accurate project cost estimates & assist in actively managing cash flows including approvals, forecasting & payment
  • Ensure project quality in terms of reliability and operability and provide project, technology, or engineering capability to assigned projects
  • Lead the finalisation of the project’s development activities (including Development Consent and Connection Agreement).
  • Ensure all activities have a strong commercial, financial, brand and marketing value drives.

About you:

  • Strong program/project management experience – leading large scale renewable and/ or grid developments
  • Passion for energy transition
  • Full end to end project lifecycle management experience
  • High Commercial and financial acumen
  • Extensive industry networks within NSW and a demonstrated ability negotiating favourable grid connections
  • Brownfield site experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities – from internal senior leaders to external community/government engagement capability
  • Strength in financial and risk management of large scale programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in
