About the Role
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing client relationships within the warehousing and logistics sector. This role requires overseeing client accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and working closely with internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in account management.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for assigned clients.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored logistics solutions.
Account Growth and Development
- Identify opportunities to expand services and increase revenue from existing accounts.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve growth targets.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing managers to attract new clients.
Service Delivery and Performance
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Monitor and report on account performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
- Brief internal stakeholders on upcoming projects for quotation and execution purposes.
Contract Management
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients.
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and company policies.
- Manage contract renewals and extensions.
Financial Management
- Monitor account budgets and financial performance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to clients and management.
- Prepare and present quotations as required.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and customer service.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support to the customer service team as needed.
Skills and Experience
As the ideal candidate and to make the transition as smooth as possible, you will possess the following key attributes:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in account management, preferably in the warehousing and logistics industry or even the print industry.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
