ABOUT THE ROLE:

The National Fuel Operations Manager develops and sustains essential operational relationships with strategic business partners in the fuel supply chain by overseeing and managing various aspects of these partnerships.

You will play a key role in ensuring that operations are aligned with site-specific goals, emphasizing safety, quality, timely execution, and cost efficiency. You will also establish key performance indicators to evaluate the success of each partnership, monitor progress, and manage overall performance outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES IN A SNAPSHOT

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will:

  • Build and manage relationship with strategic partners to drive successful outcomes
  • Manage tendering, negotiating, and reviewing of supply chain contracts to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient solutions
  • Develop processes and reports to assess partner performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Manage risks in the fuel supply chain and coordinate emergency responses for fuel-related incidents
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders to stay informed on business strategies and market trends
  • Make recommendations for site procedures, forecourt upgrades, fuel product layouts, and other fuel-related improvements
  • Manage the capital budget for fuel projects, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Handle administrative tasks such as vendor payments, rate and account reviews
  • Support and lead compliance responses to government authorities and stay updated on regulatory changes through industry bodies and government departments

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Previous experience in supply chain and distribution
  • Experience in national fuel supply chain particularly terminals, carriers, and wet stock management is desirable
  • Expertise in managing fuel inventory, optimizing cash flow, ensuring product quality, and overseeing distribution arrangements
  • Competence in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks related to the fuel supply chain and coordinating emergency responses
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and experience in leading compliance responses and engaging with government authorities
  • Capability to analyse data and trends to make informed recommendations and improvements
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders and government authorities
