Defence Fuel Operations Specialist

UGL Defence has been awarded a contract to manage the Defence fuel related Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance. As a result of expanding scope of works within UGL's portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Defence Fuel Operations Specialist to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Albury Wodonga Military Area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation. Benefit from the opportunity to work with a Tier 1 services provider in a long-term, operations and maintenance contract, within the Defence sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the safe storage and handling of fuels and fuel related products
  • Responsible for ensuring day to day product integrity requirements of the DFI
  • Manage the conduct of all required FQC sampling and testing
  • Administer the implementation of and ongoing compliance of the DFI
  • Performing operational functions within the DFI
  • Responsible for security, environmental and emergency management of the DFI
  • Review daily, weekly & monthly reporting for accuracy, investigate deviations
  • Monitor training & competency requirements for DFI Operators to achieve & maintain base compliance
  • Various tasks to maintain facilities and base assets
  • Ensure adequate records are maintained in the system
  • Liaise with Defence personnel, Management, suppliers, and the general public as required
  • Responsible for storage, packaging and disposal of Dangerous Goods - including hazardous materials

Requirements:

  • Along with experience relevant to the role, you will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee
  • Defence specific training will be advantageous; however, this training will be provided to the successful applicant where required
  • Valid Drivers Licence (HR or HC will be highly regarded)
  • Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
  • Live locally, or willing to relocate to the Albury region
