About the Role:

As energy market transitions to decarbonise and as customers become active participants in the energy market through ownership of solar, batteries, electric vehicles, etc traditional energy pricing models are being augmented by innovative pricing models and customer experiences that create additional value for both customers and AGL.

You will be responsible for identifying new pricing propositions that deliver value for the customer and AGL, evaluating the financial opportunities and risks for new pricing propositions, facilitating the deliver of changes to support new proposition development and supporting the highly engaged and collaborative team culture through your mentoring and coaching abilities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Facilitating innovation in pricing propositions through identifying and strategically evaluating the financial opportunities and risks (for both AGL and the customer) of new propositions
  • Completing high-quality commercial analysis and preparing business cases for new product and pricing constructs
  • Assessing technical requirements to implement new pricing propositions
  • Lead the design, development, testing and delivery of new pricing propositions to market, with support from key stakeholders
  • Support day-to-day pricing requests that come to the Wholesale Pricing Team

About You:

You have strong commercial acumen combined with technical skills such as Python scripting capabilities, with experience working in the energy sector in retail or wholesale pricing experience. You enjoy the challenge of tackling ambiguity and solving complex problems with a systematic deliberate approach. You have experience managing a complex system and/or business process implementation with multiple resources and collaboration with various stakeholders.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Knowledge and experience in commercial modelling and/or understanding of the financial opportunities and risks of new pricing propositions
  • Experience in identifying and driving the implementation of systems and processes to support the enhancement of business systems/processes
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, and in particular, energy market pricing concepts and drivers
  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python or R
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary and cross-functional project teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Actuarial Studies, Statistics, Econometrics, or Engineering
  • Previous experience within an Energy Retail or Wholesale product and pricing roles preferred
