About the Role

The Strategy and M&A Senior Analyst will support the Group Strategy and M&A team with the development and execution of group and business unit strategies, detailed analysis on market, competitors, financials and business, and broader support in relation to identification, evaluation and execution of M&A and business development opportunities.

Key responsibilties for the role will include:

Strategy

Assist in developing group and business unit strategies, including setting ambitions, targets, and priorities. Facilitate the communication of group strategy to internal stakeholders (e.g., ExCo Board) and external stakeholders (e.g., investors, regulators). Aid in the development and execution of strategic initiatives at both group and business unit levels. Conduct market and competitive intelligence (e.g., market sensing). Support strategic financial modeling, including valuation, scenario, and sensitivity analysis. Assist in strategic risk management.

M&A and business development

Assist in identifying, assessing, and executing M&A opportunities. Aid in identifying, assessing, and executing partnership opportunities. Conduct market and competitive intelligence (e.g., market sensing). Support strategic engagement and prepare respective papers for Board and ExCo forums.

About you

You preferably come from a background in consulting, investment banking or the financial services industry and bring a robust skill set and extensive knowledge to the table. With expertise including corporate and business unit strategy development, M&A, business development, and financial modeling which encompasses valuation, business case, scenario, and sensitivity analysis. Having a strong background in market and competitive intelligence, as well as business and data analytics will be highly beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have structured problem-solving capability complemented by advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Additionally, experience in linking strategic and customer objectives to financial outcomes, with a solid understanding of the financial services industry.

Lastly this role requires high level stakeholder engagement which will need excellent communication and story telling skills up to Exco and Board level.
