About The Role:

The Consumer Growth Team within AGL's Customer Markets plays a pivotal role in the growth of AGL’s residential and SME customer base across Australia. The team uses targeted initiatives and personalized solutions to attract new customers, ensuring that our energy services align to their specific needs. Through strategic marketing campaigns, outreach programs, and customer engagement, Consumer Growth will strengthen our market presence by supporting growth, fostering loyalty, increasing market share, and enhancing the customer experience with innovative initiatives.

As the Head of Aggregation and Growth you will be a part of the leadership team for Customer Markets, where you will maintain ongoing management of aggregators, potential M&A opportunities, and oversee the connectnow business performance and strategic direction of that end to end business. You will also be responsible for integrating and accelerating growth across AGL’s aggregation business or any potential new growth segments that complement the consumer growth or Customer Markets team. You will monitor key performance indicators, utilising data and forecasting to guide decisions around growth, business optimisation, and aligning strategies with AGL's overall strategic objectives, as well as collaborating across Customer Markets to gain insights into local market conditions, informing strategic growth decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying or reviewing M&A opportunities relevant to Customer Markets or as part of corporate development reviews, understanding new business models, commercial viability, business case modelling and collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess business viability and commercial potential where applicable, support Customer Markets and Consumer growth in any relevant new channel business casing where required.
  • Managing and optimising connectnow sales, operations, business development, strategic partnerships, infrastructure, and marketing, balancing multiple objectives and KPIs and building and maintaining strong relationships within the Aggregation sector.
  • Ensuring connectnow delivers on its current roadmap, meeting business objectives and ensuring the current operating model meets market requirements for sustainable and scalable growth. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction through viable B2B and B2C propositions.
  • Supporting due diligence processes and lead business strategic roadmaps to senior executive through report findings and strategic direction championing recommendations in senior leadership forums as well as lead and/or support the integration of acquired businesses into AGL, ensuring alignment with relevant modelling and business cases.
  • Ensuring that “adequate controls” are in place in alignment with AGL’s policies and liaising with relevant cross functional areas to understand guardrails and sign-offs required and collaborate closely with groups.
  • Creating a culture of strong leadership within the connectnow business working across multiple external parties including B2B customers, vendors and partnerships that fuel that business for growth.

About you:

  • Relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions, property, customer support, technical support, B2B ales and B2C sales roles, along with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Would have ideally managed an end to end business where you have been able to take concept to execution with demonstrated ability to meet a roadmap of strategic and tactical objectives meeting financial beneficial. Experience in running a P&L.
  • Proven track record of driving successful growth businesses and achieving revenue and EBIT targets with a strong understanding of energy and telecommunications products and services, including technical aspects, to effectively support customer inquiries and sales processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of customer service best practices, with a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and customer-centric support and an analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Have a broad range of skillsets across a number of different industries, medium to large enterprise and functions (eg: sales, marketing, digital, product, operations, finance, IT).
  • Exceptional people leadership where you are skilled at inspiring high performance, building trust and driving employee engagement through communication, empathy and accountability
  • Outstanding relationship management skills with an extensive external network. Experienced in fostering strategic partnerships to fuel growth driving mutual success with partners, customers & external parties.
  • Superior negotiation skills across large enterprise and small business clients where innovation and creativity is key to executive on sustainable commercial outcomes
