Are you a skilled Contract Administrator looking for your next challenging opportunity? We are seeking expressions of interest for a site-based role with an 8 & 6 roster. This pivotal role involves managing contracts and agreements vital to the efficient operation of all our projects. The successful candidate will ensure that contracts are drafted, negotiated, and administered in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Collaborate with the Commercial and Project Delivery teams to draft, review, and negotiate procurement agreements, service contracts, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Tender Reviews: Conduct contract reviews at tender time, prepare departure/response schedules, and assist with negotiating contract provisions to limit risk, maximize opportunities, and ensure operational requirements are reasonable.
  • Contract Administration Systems: Assist in implementing systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accountability across the business.
  • Valuation and Compliance: Undertake the valuation of variations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Project Team Support: Provide advice and summary sheets to project team members on compliance with commercial requirements, quality, HSE policies, guidelines, and project-specific procedures.
  • Progress Claims Management: Compile and prepare site progress claims, ensuring claims are prepared and submitted within contractual requirements and follow up on payments.
  • Contract Notifications and Claims: Produce and coordinate head contract notifications and claims, including variations, extensions of time, and latent conditions claims.
  • Subcontract and Notice Templates: Prepare templates for project teams, ensuring appropriate risk flow-through from head contracts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing deviations or issues promptly.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations on contract status, performance, and key metrics for management review.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mandatory:
    • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
    • Experience in a commercial, financial, or contract support role ideally in the consulting engineering environment or mining & resources industries.
    • Strong Microsoft Word & Excel capabilities.
    • A collaborative style, positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and flexibility towards undertaking various challenging tasks.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a small team setting.

  
 Desirable:

    • 7 years’ experience in contract administration.
    • Knowledge of risk management processes, assessment, and risk mitigation.
    • Sound time management and organizational skills, confident in prioritizing workload and managing competing deadlines.
