About the program
Consumer Directed Service (CDS) are services which are led by and funded by individual consumers. This includes services such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services, icare, Insurances and brokerage. These services provide support, care and access to services and technology for Australians with disabilities as well as their families and carers.

Wellways delivers a valued Consumer Directed Service experience in the metro, regional and remote communities across Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victoria, and Tasmania.

About the opportunity
As a General Manger of CDS services, you will work with the leadership team to streamline processes, structure, and practice for the most efficient service, delivering on a balanced budget each year of operation. You will work closely with all functions within Wellways to reinforce alignment to organisational priorities, strengthen integration and develop systems, processes and structures that effectively and sustainably support the delivery of services.

You will be responsible for developing and managing key stakeholder relationships at the state level and seek out Board positions and relationships with industry peaks. Led by lived experience, the General Manager supports people to speak up and challenge attitudes and practices that lead to exclusion.The General Manger will also regularly visit the offices and co-locations across their region to ensure teams feel connected and committed to Wellways’ vision, purpose and values.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social science, occupational therapy, psychology, business, human resources, or related discipline and/ or equivalent experience

  • Highly developed knowledge of NDIS and insurance-based services

  • Experience leading/ managing diverse teams

  • Available to travel and to participate in out of hours activities as required to undertake the requirements of the role

  • Right to work within Australia

  • Current valid Driver’s License

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check
