The Opportunity

This position will assist the project with Construction activities, working closely with the project team and Construction Manger to meet the operational commitments in accordance with company policies and procedures.

This position will require flexibility to support and adapt with changing work demands and hours of work including shifts, weekends and away from home

Key responsibilities include.

  • Work at heights on rail-connected 1500V overhead wiring, without supervision of an Authorised Overhead Traction Worker, Accredited OHW Rigger, Accredited OHW Installer, or Accredited OHW Worker; and
  • Work to the Safe Approach Distances (SADs) specified for "Accredited Persons" in Table 1 of SMS-06-GD-0268 Working around Electrical Equipment when in compliance with clause 5.4.3 of the same document, in relation to DC nominal voltages only.
  • Quantify, control, receipt and issue of materials required for the timely completion of projects
  • Transport tools, materials and work pieces to and from sites or workbenches

Requirements to be successful.

  • Trade qualified Rail Traction Linesman  Both AC & DC Experience
  • Ability to read complex drawings and interpret requirements.
  • Relevant Construction Card (e.g. White Card)
  • Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
  • Driver’s License
  • Tickets and Licenses: EWP, First Aid, RIW, Dogman, Rigger
  • Capable of obtaining qualifications to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Demonstrated experience in key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role
