The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team, responsible for providing engineering and delivery expertise in the design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and construction of Rail Traction Power projects, including Traction Substations and Sectioning Huts.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Project Manager with the submission of the Project Monthly Report in our management system and development of reports and associated tools to identify and correct problem areas.
- Ensure adherence to all Rail Safety standards, legislative, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify work practices, methods, and activities that can be altered or improved.
- Lead the detailed planning for specific project activities, as assigned by the Project Manager.
- Manage all aspects of allocated projects in conjunction with relevant stakeholders and contractors to progress projects to implementation and commissioning.
- Manage the administration and control of Contract Instructions, ensuring that any change of scope, direction to proceed, site instruction, etc., is given to the Contractor(s) in writing and correctly documented.
- Manage the receipt of design information and drawings, including ensuring that a current drawing register is maintained and that the documentation is issued to all the relevant parties.
- Manage the handover process at project completion, ensuring that all key stakeholders are involved, and that project documentation is completed in accordance with procedures.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in project-related disciplines in the Rail Traction Power environment.
- Knowledge of Rail Safety National Law is a requirement for Rail Safety Workers.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (Civil/Mech./Elec.) at degree level.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritize demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
