The Role
The EL 1 Combat Systems Engineering position works within the Amphibious Combat and Sealift Systems Program Office (ACSSPO) Combat Systems Engineering team, with a workforce that consists of uniformed ADF members, APS employees and contractor personnel.
ACSSPO provides through life sustainment and engineering change management of LHD (HMAS ADELAIDE & CANBERRA), LSD (HMAS CHOULES) and LLC (LHD Landing Craft) vessels.
The Combat Systems team is responsible for providing engineering services and advice for communication, sensor, combat management and weapon systems aspects of LHD, LSD and LLC vessels. This is either directly or through engagement with other areas of the Royal Australian Navy Engineering organisation.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team
ACSSPO is a diverse workplace that it consists of uniformed Australian Defence Force personnel, APS personnel and contractors.
We are responsible for providing engineering advice to multiple external stakeholders in Defence for all communications, sensor, combat management and weapon systems installed on Amphibious and Combat Sealift vessels of the RAN.
