The Australian Government Department of Defence is seeking a highly skilled Combat Systems Engineering Expert to join their team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Amphibious Combat and Sealift Systems Program Office (ACSSPO) Combat Systems Engineering team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing engineering advice and services to multiple external stakeholders in Defence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct, coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organisation control, integration and delivery of complex to very complex engineering services and products.
  • Lead and manage engineering and technical staff in accordance with Defence policies and organisational objectives.
  • Implement engineering processes and activities identified in the Engineering Management Plan (EMP) and subordinate technical plans.
  • Manage and evaluate engineering projects ensuring key performance measures are met.
  • Perform design assurance or acceptance representative duties in accordance with the delegations issued by the relevant Technical Regulatory Authority or liaise with those who hold the required technical delegations.
  • Manage the preparation of objective evidence that the materiel being delivered by the suppliers meets the requirements of the Technical Regulatory Authority.
  • Investigate and report on any materiel defects, non-conformances, engineering change proposals, or applications for concessions on materiel requirements, and develop recommendations to address the issue.

This role comes with a competitive salary range of AU$123,000 - AU$163,000 per annum, depending on experience.

We are a dynamic workplace consisting of uniformed Australian Defence Force personnel, APS personnel and contractors. We provide engineering advice to multiple external stakeholders in Defence for all communications, sensor, combat management and weapon systems installed on Amphibious and Combat Sealift vessels of the RAN.
