Combat Systems Engineer

The role of Combat Systems Engineer requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to work within the Amphibious Combat and Sealift Systems Program Office (ACSSPO) Combat Systems Engineering team. This team is responsible for providing engineering services and advice for communication, sensor, combat management and weapon systems aspects of LHD, LSD and LLC vessels.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Directing and coordinating the planning, organisation, control, integration and delivery of complex engineering services and products.
- Leading and managing engineering and technical staff in accordance with Defence policies and organisational objectives.
- Implementing engineering processes and activities identified in the Engineering Management Plan (EMP) and subordinate technical plans.
- Managing and evaluating engineering projects to ensure key performance measures are met.
- Performing design assurance or acceptance representative duties in accordance with the delegations issued by the relevant Technical Regulatory Authority or liaising with those who hold the required technical delegations.
- Managing the preparation of objective evidence that the materiel being delivered by the suppliers meets the requirements of the Technical Regulatory Authority.
- Investigating and reporting on any materiel defects, non-conformances, engineering change proposals, or applications for concessions on materiel requirements, and developing recommendations to address the issue.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on a range of complex projects and to contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering services to the Defence organisation. The role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
