GenesisCare are looking for an experienced Part Time Practice Development Nurse to join our Victoria Team working 3 days a week. This role will be based at our Head Office location however will require regular travel across the state of Victoria.

The primary purpose of the Practice Development Nurse (PDN) is to conduct, coordinate and evaluate education, training, and ongoing professional development activities of the nursing workforce.

This role is primarily non-clinical (supernumerary) but may be required to support clinically as deemed necessary by the Director of Nursing or state-based leadership team.

This is a 10-month Maximum Term Contract until August 2025

Key Areas for the role:

Education and training Practice Development Professional Development and Clinical Leadership Evidence-based best practice, implementation, research, and evaluation

More specifically, you will:

Provide clinical nursing leadership in the delivery of cancer nursing education to the nursing workforce Create, support, provide and deliver education and learning opportunities, to ensure consistent nursing practice across all sites and enable collaboration amongst nursing teams Evaluation of nursing interventions and implementation of strategies to maintain and drive innovation in clinical practice both at a state and national level Identify training gaps and needs across the state and at individual centres through effective relationships with key stakeholders to create tailored education and training materials to support identified concerns Collaborative engagement with the local leadership teams and Director of Nursing to develop and support local strategies to meet clinical need through identified practice development requirements Contributes to and ensures maintenance, advancement and ongoing development of personal theoretical knowledge, high standards of clinical competence and professional development through self- education and attendance at relevant courses of study Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Eligible for unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Post graduate qualification in cancer care nursing, clinical education or similar Minimum of five years’ experience as a nurse in the oncology setting Exemplary interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills Possess the skills and experience for positive performance management in the staff development domain Proven ability to coordinate workload to maximise skills of staff
