The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Live Line Welder to join our Networks Capital Delivery team in Eagle Farm, Permanent full-time basis.
Reporting directly to the Supervisor Fabrication Services, you will be responsible to perform welding and fabrication duties to support the activities of APA Group operations including in service welding and welding on transmission pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and install Industrial & Commercial metering equipment
- Perform wide variety of welding and fabrication duties
- Conduct welding inspections on weld repairs, In Service Welding, transmission pipeline projects and station projects
- Complete repair welds and in-service welding to stopple a line in an emergency situation under full flow conditions
- Maintain weld and Material traceability on transmission pipeline and station projects
- Provide guidance, coaching and assist with implementing a development plan for future welding apprentices
Your background
- Quality experience in welding and fabrication post trade qualification
- Welding certificates such as AS1796 3E and 7 will be looked at favourably.
- Experience in the welding pressure equipment subsequent to gaining a welder’s certificate
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings for construction and good knowledge of relevant codes associated with pipeline and pipeline equipment installations
- Must be able to pass a 5G low hydrogen MMAW test and 5G GTAW test

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
