With over 35 years’ experience working with Defence and with the recently awarded 6-year Firefighting Services contract, 2024 is an exciting time to join Ventia. In support of this newly awarded contract, Ventia are seeking a P&C Business Partner Fire Services to join their global and diverse organisation.
About the role
Based in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth, this role will see you deliver the execution of the Ventia and Defence People and Capability business strategy across the Firefighting Services portfolio.
This position is primarily responsible for:
- Contributing to and supporting a high-performance culture through the delivery of quality and strategic people initiatives.
- Working with operational leads to drive effective and efficient management of Employee relations which supports a culture of open communication and collaborative problem solving.
- Guiding and partnering with Firefighting business leaders to ensure compliance with relevant industrial agreements and support the Enterprise Bargaining process across various state-based Agreements.
- Maintaining strategic relationships with Firefighting senior management to make sure People objectives and outcomes are achieved with the desired outcome and within the required timeframes.
- Lead the planning, design, management and implementation of successful change initiatives.
- Actively contribute to business initiatives to optimise efficiency and effectiveness to ensure effective workforce planning.

About you
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field and/ or combination of relevant experience and education.
- Solid foundation in HR with an emphasis on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, in particular experience managing unionised blue collar working environments.
- Experience in a services-based environment.
- Exceptional relationship building skills.
- Sound knowledge and application of employment law.
- Talent and change management experience.
- Excellent judgement, initiative, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Dispute/conflict resolution skills
You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance to Apply.
