About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Maintenance Technician to join our Malaga site, working as part of the Goodwill Engineering Operations team

This position is Full time, permanent.

This position is an integral part of the Goodwill Engineering Operations team. The Assistant Maintenance Technician supports the Maintenance Technicians to ensure Goodwill Engineering hardware production equipment and machinery is maintained and in continual operation to produce goods and services.

The role also assists with modification of machinery to enable people with disability to operate in a safe and effective manner and working alongside employees with disabilities working in a commercial setting to carry out a variety of tasks.

The Assistant Maintenance Technician will:

  • Carry out regular inspections and maintenance on Goodwill Engineering machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures to ensure they operate at their optimum output and safe requirements.
  • Support the Maintenance Technician on the reporting of upcoming required repairs via Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
  • Assist employees with any needs associated with production and safety.
  • Assist the Maintenance Technician in the retooling of Goodwill Engineering machinery to adapt to customer order requirements
  • Assist with the enhancement of production process where required
  • Compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Assist Goodwill Engineering to comply with ISO relevant procedures and instructions.

About You

What we’ll need to help kick-start your journey with us:

  • Experience working in similar role such as tool maker, machinist, fabricator.
  • Relevant qualification or experience in areas such as welding, fabrication, tool making.
  • Very good standard of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative with team working skills and the ability to build good relationships.
  • Personal or professional experience of working with people with disabilities.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the principles of the NDIS and the philosophy of Community Inclusion and Quality & Safeguarding Framework.
  • National Police Clearance no older than 6 months, has the right to work in Australia, Current and Valid ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence, NDIS Workers Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening Check and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
