Our client is a leading provider of heavy earthmoving and mining services in Australia. With a strong presence in the mining sector, the company delivers a wide range of services, including open-cut mining, civil construction, and equipment management.

The Opportunity

Two exciting opportunities are available for an experienced HME Maintenance or Shutdown Planner to join a high performing and successful team with opportunities for long term career growth.

Both based on site at a coal mine in North QLD, these roles provide paid flights from either Townsville or Rockhampton with the Maintenance Planner offering an 8/6 roster and the Shutdown Planner offering a 5/2/4/3 roster. Living on site you will be less than a minute from work with meals, accommodation (inc. on-site gym, golf simulator & wet mess) and PPE provided.

In the Maintenance Planner role you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily and long-term maintenance planning and scheduling tasks
  • Ensuring maintenance plans and schedules align with company goals and standards
  • Escalating urgent repairs to the Supervisor for prompt approval
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities
  • Managing defects in accordance with contract specifications

In the Shutdown Planner role you will be responsible for:

  • Accountable for planning all mechanical maintenance activities during shutdowns
  • Projecting major shutdown tasks and managing preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ensuring maintenance activity records are kept accurate and current
  • Determining labor needs for shutdowns and coordinating specialist contractor resources

What you'll need to succeed for the Maintenance and Shutdown Planner roles:

  • Significant experience in maintenance planning for mine mobile plant equipment (experience with Liebherr Excavators (600t+) is a plus)
  • Relevant trade certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (MEX) or ERP systems like JDE is highly desirable
  • Valid QLD driver's license
  • Current Standard 11
