About the role:

Knauf Aquapanel is seeking a passionate and reliable candidate for its Specification Managerrole. In this you will be responsible for providing innovate solutions, identify and engage potential customers, drive promotions, create designs and specifications for architects / designers to the Architectural/Design community to secure advantage specifications and collaborate with Commercial Sales to convert specifications to sales orders.

It is critical you have a strong understanding of the specification process through the construction cycle and the ability to communicate on multiple levels of influences within Architectural firms and the broader design/construction community. This role will be based in Port Melbourne, VIC and report to the National Architecture and Specifications Manager.

Role responsibilities:

  • Drive specification of Knauf products and systems through architectural support, giving advice on legal building regulations and promotion of new/existing products to market, value added services such BIMWIZARD, E Tools and Value Engineering; targeting key Architectural firms and building segments in the designated region
  • Maximize conversion of advantage specifications to sales orders by collaborating with the Commercial Sales and Engineering teams throughout the construction cycle
  • Identify new project opportunities through multiple platforms (e.g. Estimate ONE, Bid Contender) and work to convert these specifications with our architectural contacts to Knauf products/systems to maximize sales opportunities
  • Ensure strong customer engagement with Knauf is achieved through key account plans, CPD requirements, project support including design reviews, technical responses, product sample approvals, ensure engagement is across multiple level of influence (Architectural Director, Senior Architects, project Architects and interior designers)
  • Be responsible for initiating customer back innovation through representation and feedback from Architectural community regarding design issues or design trends and feeding information into Knauf innovation pipeline

Candidate requirements:

  • Qualification in Engineering or Architecture
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in selling high quality systems tendered by architects, planners and general contractors
  • Specialized knowledge in a specific market or with similar product types
  • Willingness to travel intensively, with a valid driver licence
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills and experience with CRM platform (Salesforce)
  • Demonstrate proven track record in collaboration with Sales teams for the conversion of specifications to sales orders
  • Good understanding of building regulations/codes and construction practices
