Your Opportunity

As our Administration Officer “extraordinaire” you will be a vital part our team, ensuring the seamless operation of our service.

Our Integrated Homelessness Supported Accommodation Program (IHSAP) also known around the region as “Batton Road”, is a collaboration of complementary services and agencies that have established co-located specialist supports such as Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug, Specialist Family Support and other specialist homelessness providers working together to support our communities homeless population. Mission Australia provides client engagement and case coordination services for people who are living at the facility.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a welcoming and supportive experience for vulnerable people who are engaging with our support services.
  • Complete a range of administrative tasks including but not limited to taking phone calls, booking appointments, coordination of emails and mail distribution, maintenance of electronic files, meeting minute taking, data entry, ordering supplies, and processing accounts payable to ensure the efficient organisation of the office.
  • Action administrative support to the Program Manager including organising meetings, assisting with basic diary management, and administrative projects as directed.
  • Highly professional and courteous, verbal, and written communication that is aligned with the Mission Australia Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain all fleet vehicles and respond to all building maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Provide other team support activities as required to support the delivery of services.

Requirements for Success

With significant experience in an administrative role in the community service and/or health sectors and demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable people, you will be confident managing multiple competing priorities and working with people displaying challenging and complex behaviours.  Other requirements include:

  • Proficient in using computer packages such as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Highly personable with an exceptional level of customer service and experience, and excellent analytical, literacy, numeracy, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated solutions focused thinking and problem solving.
  • Experienced in the use of databases and online information systems and records management.
  • High level organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
  • Client focused and respectful with vulnerable people who are accessing our services.
  • Full driver licence with no restrictions.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
