Exciting opportunity for a Grade 4 Allied Health Clinician to be part of FASDConnect - a new statewide FASD initiative based at Monash Children's Hospital. This is a two (2) year fixed term position,
working part time, 38 hours per fortnight. If successful, you'll be one of four members of a newly forming team, all working part time. We'll work with you to provide flexibility as far as possible, to accommodate your preferred working days and hours.
About the Monash Health Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Service and FASDConnect
The Monash Health Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Service is supported by the Developmental Paediatrics team at Monash Children's Hospital. It provides specialist multidisciplinary
assessments for children with pre-natal alcohol exposure, who show complex neurological, developmental, and behavioural symptoms. The service also delivers education, information and
resources to communities at high risk of FASD, and provides clinical training in FASD diagnosis for paediatricians, psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and social workers.
The FASD Service at Monash Children’s comprises pathways for children 0-3 years through the Jacana Clinic, and for children 3-10 years through VicFAS.
FASDConnect is a new partnership between the Monash Health FASD Service and the Victorian Department of Health, aimed at supporting the Targeted Support for Children in Out of Home
Care project. FASDConnect aims to:
- increase early identification and diagnosis of children and young people with FASD in the Out of Home Care system through education of its staff;
- build capacity of the health system to identify, diagnose and respond to FASD;
- increase awareness and skills in the child protection workforce to collect and document information about prenatal alcohol exposure to support diagnosis; and
- intersect with the established Monash Health FASD Services.
About You:
- Excellent skills and experience wotking in the FASD space
- High level leadership and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in education of clinicians and child protection workers
What you need:
- Senior Allied Health Clinician qualifications (Grade 4 OT, Speech, Social Work) - Please see attached Role statement
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
