About The Role:

Compare The Market is on the lookout for an exceptional Senior Corporate Lawyer to become an integral part of our dynamic Legal team, situated in Toowong. What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you’ll play a pivotal role in our continued success by:

  • Identifying and managing regulatory risks to the CTM business.
  • Providing end-to-end legal and regulatory advice to support sustainable growth.
  • Reviewing collateral and advertising campaigns to align with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Leading negotiations and execution of contracts across all business areas.
  • Identifying and advising on legal, regulatory and commercial issues relating to privacy, data and information security.
  • Providing legal and strategic advice for major projects.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of compliance programs and the sustainability and integrity of the business as a whole.
  • Contributing to industry best practices and innovation.

What You’ll Bring:

As a Senior Corporate Lawyer, you’ll bring extensive Post Qualification Experience, demonstrating a profound understanding of regulatory compliance and commercial law. Your exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enable you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. With experience in privacy and technology, you possess the acumen to navigate complex legal landscapes while driving innovative solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, where your engaging demeanour fosters productive relationships and contributes to the continuous improvement of our legal and compliance initiatives.

  • Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
  • Australian Practising Certificate.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience, preferably at a senior level.
  • General commercial experience, including regulatory compliance.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant laws such as ACL, Privacy Act and the Corporations Act as it applies to Financial Services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The following experience would be highly regarded but is not essential:

  • Experience leading technology procurement and related projects;
  • Experience with incident management and breach oversight;
  • Familiarity with the National Energy Customer Framework, National Consumer Credit Protection Act or National Credit Code.
