About the role

 
In this role, you will contribute to the development, promotion and delivery of events, programs and activations that enhance Glen Eira’s vibrant culture.

You will help plan and deliver the Glen Eira Arts Program that boosts community engagement and educational outreach, promoting a greater appreciation for the arts through creative, inclusive and accessible activities.

Other responsibilities include:

Liaise with community groups, arts and cultural organisations, individual artists and performers, suppliers and contractors, as well as other Councils. Implement and produce approved programs, events and festivals. Contribute to the Glen Eira Arts Program in accordance with Council’s strategic and cultural plans. Coordinate promotional material in collaboration with the Arts & Culture team. Supervise part time and casual staff and contractors, including rosters and event briefs.

About you
You are passionate about arts and culture and skilled at engaging diverse communities. You build strong relationships with stakeholders, arts practitioners, and project teams to deliver high-quality cultural activities. With experience in event planning, you have a talent for creating innovative programs that promote accessibility and inclusivity.

The following is also required: 

Tertiary qualification in Arts Management or related area and / or equivalent and relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in developing, programming and producing arts and cultural projects. Experience in managing contractors and vendors. Some experience working in the public sector (desirable).

Interview information
In order to best manage the selection process, all shortlisted candidates will be contacted before 5 pm on Friday 23 August 2024 , to arrange an interview. The interviews will take place in person or by video conference.

Interviews will take place between Tuesday 27 August 2024 and Thursday 29 August 2024 between 9 am and 5 pm.
