Contract Management Support Officer opportunity

About the role
Government department seeks an experienced Contract Management Support Officer to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 3 months based in Melbourne CBD. As the Contract Management Support Officer, you will support the coordination of contract management and procurement activities and projects within the team.
You will support sound contract management and procurement governance and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in terms of service delivery.
Key duties
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the division's contract management activities to ensure that timelines, budgets, and government objectives are met.
- Contributing to the ongoing performance assessment of the division's contracts to ensure contracted providers meet their obligations with respect to achieving performance targets.
- Providing contract interpretation and sound advice in-line with the division's contract management and procurement objectives.
- Prepare reports, briefs, and contribute to policy development and projects.
- Lead the development and delivery of goods and services procurement processes, ensuring the highest levels of probity from the market that represent value for money.
- Maintain an understanding of Victorian government procurement policies, processes, and procedures.
- Contribute to the application of risk management and mitigation practices in line with the Victorian Government Risk Management Framework.
- Contribute to improving service delivery processes and procedures to achieve efficiencies and better outcomes.
Key Selection Criteria
The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:
- Expertise and demonstrated experience in contract management and procurement, preferably within the public sector.
- Strong analytical, decision making, and record keeping skills to support contract management and procurement activities such as comparing proposals and identifying value for money contracts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate and provide sound advice to diverse internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers.
- Ability to monitor contractor performance and proactively identify improvement opportunities and/or under-performance.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering services in a collaborative manner to internal and external stakeholders that identifies opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement, and in-line with best practice.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Contract Management, Procurement and/or significant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
