About the Role:
Currently Evolve Scientific is seeking a Purchasing Manager - Raw Materials and Packaging, to coordinate the supply and inventory of personal care raw materials/ packaging to meet production schedules and forecast demand.
This role is a permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with suppliers to procure raw materials for production requirements
- Utilise the MRP system to conduct regular analyses/generate Purchase Orders
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms
- Collaborate closely with the Production Planner to align raw material delivery schedules with the Production Plan.
- Maintain accurate records re; raw material specifications and alternative suppliers
- Address instances of non-conformance by suppliers, coordinating resolutions and corrective actions as necessary
- Manage the process of obtaining credit notes for non-delivery or sub-standard raw materials, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Solicit quotations from suppliers and explore new sources for raw materials
- Monitor raw material stock levels and coordinate deliveries to align with inventory targets, preventing stockouts or excess inventory.
- Conduct annual supplier audits for raw materials, adhering to SOP guidelines to assess supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant purchasing , procurement or supply chain management experience in FMCG, haircare, cosmetic, skincare or related.
- Experience in liaising with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, and managing procurement processes.
- Experience with MRP systems such as SAP Business One software is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process eg planning, scheduling, forecasting
- Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal skills and an ability to multi task essential
- Meticulous attention to detail
