We are currently looking for a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Specialist to step into a Global Payroll position (standalone) to join the finance team.

You’ll be an experienced payroll professional who will provide timely, accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services to our employees. The role will liaise between internal teams, external partners, our employees and third-party vendors.

Overseeing all regions - EMEA, US and ANZ(direct processing responsibility 200 odd), you will deliver operational excellence, help identify improvement areas, deliver a great employee experience and ultimately lead our payroll function on a global scale.

This role would suit someone looking for an opportunity to make the role their own, and has had experience leading and implementing payroll systems and processes. You’ve worked with a number of systems and know what good looks like.

This role is Sydney based (hybrid) and we follow Squiz Flex Policy regarding time in our office. 

For this role, we ask that you can demonstrate:

  • Experience running corporate payroll for staff >150
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines
  • Expertise in calculating all facets of payroll 
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels and layers of the organisation using exceptional communications skills and ability to influence and to adapt to changing business needs
  • Experience managing payroll across Australia and New Zealand entities
  • Experience with payroll system implementation (including transforming process)
  • Demonstrate experience evaluating pay practises in compliance with internal policies, practices and regional law
  • Be a self starter, who is efficient and highly organised 

Nice to have

  • Experience working with various payroll system; Justworks - a US payroll Platform, Sage Micropay
  • Experience managing multi global region payroll and reporting
  • Experience managing external payroll providers

 What you would do (the role day to day): 

  • Accountable for the entire payroll process from start to finish. Responsible for timely and accurate processing, delivery and reconciliation of payroll.
  • Process monthly and semi monthly payrolls across our global payroll platforms
  • Lodge tax authorities submissions and make payments
  • Prepare payroll tax calculations in Australia and make submissions and payments
  • Enter journal entries related to payroll in the general ledger
  • Oversee, collaborate and meet with the various regions on a regular basis
  • Build and maintain relationships with various business units throughout the business 
  • Evaluate pay practices to ensure compliance with country specific laws
  • Participates in various projects and initiatives as business lead.
