Senior Payroll Specialist Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join Navitas, a leading global education provider, and lead initiatives that ensure the achievement of the team's objectives. Reporting to an experienced Payroll Operations Manager, a key focus of the role will be driving continual process improvements that add long-term value and improve effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Operations Manager to ensure seamless payroll operations and address emerging issues promptly.
  • Interpret payroll-related federal and state legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and Awards.
  • Conduct thorough internal payroll audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Review and document current processes and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory, and statutory requirements for all payroll-related company obligations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements aimed at enhancing accuracy and reducing processing effort.
  • Provide technical support and utilize system expertise to maximize iChris functionality and payroll processes.
  • Assist in payroll-related reconciliations for the general ledger and clearing accounts, as needed.
  • Provide support, training, and guidance to the payroll team, offering advice in resolving complex payroll issues.
  • Advise HR on payroll-related matters.
  • Accurately calculate backpays and ensure timely processing.
  • Partner in and lead payroll-related projects.
Requirements:
  • A detail-oriented approach and a passion for payroll and process improvement.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processes and best practice.
  • In-depth understanding of federal and state payroll-related legislation and regulations.
  • Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Experience conducting internal payroll audits.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately process complex payroll calculations, including backpays, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze data.
  • iChris expertise and experience maximizing system functionality.
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
