The Role:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef De Partie for Social Dinning part of Verandah Precinct to contribute to the success of our kitchen operations. The position will work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and Manager and become a kitchen all rounder with exposure to various stations within the kitchen. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·        Menu planning as per customer demand and market requirements within the company budget in liaison with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the Restaurant Manager.

·        Prepare and cook high quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes.

·        Ensuring all dishes are presented/ garnished correctly and consistently.

·        Service Preparation: Garnishes, Ingredients, Sauces, sides etc.

·        Receiving, recording and accounting for supplies and deliveries.

·        Following kitchens regular cleaning practices.

·        Assist in training junior chefs and trainees.

·        Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment.

·        Monitoring portion and waste control.

·        Maintain a positive and professional approach to co-workers and customers

·        Opening and Closing kitchen.

·        Running a section within the kitchen.

·        Assist with catering for all private functions in the space.

·        Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.

·        Adherence and awareness of Australian food & safety health standards & codes of practice.

·        WHS – adhering to and implement sanitation and safety regulations.

·        Using safe work practices and supporting others to use them.

About the applicant:

  • A genuine passion for cooking and creativity.
  • Trade qualifications (i.e. Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery).
  • Must have at least 2 years experience in restaurant kitchen.

·        Must be available Monday to Friday for Day shift.

  • Thorough understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to lead a team, encouraging and ensuring all team members are performing and working in a positive environment.

Salary: AUD 73,150per year plus superannuation
