The Clinical Care Coordinator will provide clinical leadership and work collaboratively with the Facility Manager and key relevant people, residents and families to oversee and guide effective resident focused clinical outcomes. The role is supported by the Facility Manager and specialist teams in Quality, Learning and Development and AN-ACC who all assist in championing a continuous improvement program in the clinical care of residents at mecwacare.
  
Key selection criteria:

Current AHPRA Registration:

  • Hold current and ongoing registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.

 Advanced Clinical Skills in Gerontology:

  • Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in gerontology to ensure high-quality care for older adults.

Leadership and Staff Support:

  • Experience in leading, supporting, and mentoring staff, providing guidance to the nursing and care team in all aspects of clinical and personal care.

  
Team Motivation and Leadership:

  • Proven ability to motivate and lead the clinical and care team, fostering a positive work culture and promoting teamwork.

  
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

  
Organizational and Prioritization Skills:

  • Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  
Knowledge of Aged Care Regulations:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aged Care legislation, Aged Care Standards, and AN-ACC to ensure compliance and quality care delivery.

  
Computer Literacy:

  • Proficient in computer skills and literacy to utilise electronic health records and other digital systems efficiently.

  
Empathy and Mature Outlook:

  • Possess a mature outlook with the ability to relate empathetically to older adults and their unique needs.

  
Autonomous Decision-Making:

  • Confident in operating autonomously and responding promptly and systematically to clinical and operational challenges.

  
Deputizing Skills:

  • Ability to deputize for the Facility Manager when required, demonstrating confidence and competence in decision-making and leadership.

  
Infection Prevention and Control:

  • Hold or in the process of obtaining an Infection Prevention and Control Lead (IPC Lead) qualification to ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
