Key selection criteria :
Current AHPRA Registration:
Hold current and ongoing registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse. Advanced Clinical Skills in Gerontology:
Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in gerontology to ensure high-quality care for older adults. Leadership and Staff Support:
Experience in leading, supporting, and mentoring staff, providing guidance to the nursing and care team in all aspects of clinical and personal care.
Team Motivation and Leadership:
Proven ability to motivate and lead the clinical and care team, fostering a positive work culture and promoting teamwork.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Organizational and Prioritization Skills:
Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Knowledge of Aged Care Regulations:
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aged Care legislation, Aged Care Standards, and AN-ACC to ensure compliance and quality care delivery.
Computer Literacy:
Proficient in computer skills and literacy to utilise electronic health records and other digital systems efficiently.
Empathy and Mature Outlook:
Possess a mature outlook with the ability to relate empathetically to older adults and their unique needs.
Autonomous Decision-Making:
Confident in operating autonomously and responding promptly and systematically to clinical and operational challenges.
Deputizing Skills:
Ability to deputize for the Facility Manager when required, demonstrating confidence and competence in decision-making and leadership.
Infection Prevention and Control:
Hold or in the process of obtaining an Infection Prevention and Control Lead (IPC Lead) qualification to ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
