About the Role:
This role is key in creating a positive and productive work environment while driving business success through effective industrial relations practices.  In the role of Industrial Relations Manager, you will join the regional team and lead on all ER/IR advice for that cohort. This role will work across multiple projects,  partner with project and HR leads to implement sound industrial relations practices across the region. This is a pivotal role that will support the State Head of HR and be part of the national IR Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage industrial relations issues to prevent serious disputes and maintain a harmonious working environment
  • Negotiate with multiple parties, including unions and employees, to resolve conflicts and reach agreements
  • Advocate hearings before relevant authorities, such as Fair Work Australia, when necessary
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align external and internal communications on industrial relations matters
  • Provide advice on industry trends and union expectations during the tender process
  • Liaise with employer associations and government bodies to stay informed about industry developments
  • Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, including project teams and site staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial relations or employee relations, preferably in relevant industries
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating and implementing industrial agreements
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Code
