A vacancy currently exists within the Compliance and Field Services team for anOperations Manager who will be responsible for managing a team of Industrial inspectors. The position is located at Newstead.

We seek to improve work health and safety, through regulatory and policy frameworks and the provision of evidenced-based services and advice. As anOperations Manager within Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ), you will be part of an efficient flexible and responsive team that strives for safer workplaces.

**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Lead a team of Inspectors in a regulatory environment
- Identify and enforce breaches of legislation
- Produce and review briefs of evidence
- Educate a very broad range of industry sectors to ensure they are compliant with Work Health and Safety legislation
- Work autonomously and be part of a high functioning team
- Be adaptable and lead significant workplace change

**To be successful in this role you will need**:

- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, including the ability to deal with and diffuse conflict and liaise with the community around sensitive matters
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and lead others.

This role will challenge and develop your ability to engage with stakeholders, lead others, partner and educate the community in safety matters and ensure compliance within a regulatory framework.
