In Adelaide we offer a 24-hour emergency and critical care service together with services in internal medicine, surgery, neurology, dermatology, radiology and physiotherapy/rehabilitation. We have plans to add oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology and other specialties too. Our Adelaide facility was built with the needs of our team in mind. You will have access to the brand new Intensive Care Unit, full service in-house lab, Ultrasound, CT scanner, MRI, digital radiography, three theatres including an interventional radiology space, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and more.
  
The Junior Emergency Vet Position:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and team-oriented Emergency Vet to join our 24hr Emergency team in Adelaide in either casual, permanent, fixed term, full time or part time capacity. You will work in a multidisciplinary setting alongside colleagues in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Dermatology and Neurology, while receiving direct support and in-house training from our Emergency and Critical Care Specialists Dr Nicole Kalnins and Dr Morgan Woodforde. There will be opportunities to collaborate with departments across the extensive network of SASH in NSW.
  
As the Junior Emergency Vet, you will be in a supported role that focuses on training and developing your emergency skills.

  • Learn new procedures and take part in emergency surgeries.
  • Develop your communication skills
  • Be supported through difficult conversations with clients by an experienced emergency vets and nurses.

The SASH team is known for being a positive and supportive workplace and our emergency team is no exception. Ensuring our team has a healthy work-life balance is our top priority which is reflected in our shift structures, clinical support staff and our low staff turnover. You will have a variety of shifts to ensure a varied caseload is achieved. The majority of these shifts will be during the day in the beginning, then eventually a mix of days and evenings, being completely supported with a strong focus on training.

The SASH team is looking for a vet who is passionate about learning to care for some of the most emergent and  critical patients.

  • At least 1 year experience as a veterinarian is preferred, however new graduates will also be considered for the position
  • Current registration with OR a degree that is registerable with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW
