Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our clinical team at the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) in South Australia.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality consultative and procedural care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroscopies, colonoscopies, and PEG insertions. The role involves leading our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Service and contributing to both general and after-hours emergency gastroenterology services.

As a Consultant Gastroenterologist, you will oversee the collection and audit of clinical data, ensuring excellent patient outcomes. You will also support an innovative clinical research program within the Department and supervise a team of trainee medical officers, registrars, and fellows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality gastroenterological care to patients
  • Lead the IBD Service and contribute to emergency gastroenterology services
  • Oversee clinical data collection and audit
  • Support clinical research programs
  • Supervise junior staff members
Requirements
  • MBBS qualification with FRACP in Gastroenterology or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Proven skills in gastroenterological procedures
  • Extensive experience in IBD care and clinical diagnostics
  • Able to work well within a multidisciplinary team
