HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Level Procurement Specialist for a major digital transformation project. This is a hybrid role (DEAKIN, Canberra-based), offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to significant ICT and vendor management initiatives.


About the Role:
You will be responsible for driving procurement activities that align with ICT investment strategies and ensuring compliance with government frameworks. Your expertise will support vendor selection and management to deliver innovative solutions for digital transformation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage procurement activities, ensuring alignment with digital strategies.
  • Prepare and review procurement documentation, including business cases and approval briefs.
  • Ensure procurement methods are compliant with policies and procedures.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and performance management.
  • Advise on sourcing models and vendor selection processes.
  • Provide procurement updates and reports for leadership.

About You:
We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a solid background in procurement and vendor management in the ICT sector. You will have:

  • 4-6 year's experience in a similar procurement role.
  • Deep understanding of the Commonwealth Investment Framework and ICT Investment Oversight Framework (IOF).
  • Proven success in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive team culture and developing staff.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Commonwealth resource management framework and ICT Investment Approval Process (IAPP).
  • Enthusiasm for accessibility and experience with accessible design and development.

Australian citizenship and a Baseline security clearance (or willingness to obtain one) are mandatory for this role.
